Abstract
Session1 (Instrumentation and observations to quantify the magnitude and distribution of atmospheric optical turbulence.)
Title'Current status of the DIMM station at Subaru Telescope'
AbstractWe have started an operation of a DIMM station at the Subaru Telescope site since June 2005. The DIMM station consists of one 30 cm diameter DIMM, its enclosure and the control system, which enables fully automated operation. We put our DIMM at the catwalk of the Subaru enclosure at the level of 12 m from the ground to minimize the influence of ground layer. However, because the DIMM is so close to the Subaru enclosure, unpredictable seeing bias has been observed. We report the summary of the DIMM operation and also mention the problem at the seeing measurements.
